Students will investigate current technologies and best practices used in the design, implementation, and operation of secure cloud computing systems. The course will introduce virtualization technologies and a cloud virtualization platform, with an emphasis on security considerations in the implementation of these systems. ITAS 166 was formerly called ITAS 278T; credit will not be granted for both courses. (2:0:3)

This course covers a range of wired and wireless networking technologies including the configuring and operation of switches and routers, TCP/IP protocols, how data is transferred between devices and network security concepts.
