ITAS 185 — Introduction to Modern Programming

Programming fundamentals for students with no prior experience: the terminal, Python, decisions and loops, lists and dictionaries, functions, files, and object-oriented design. The later weeks add version control, dependencies, and working with AI coding tools — reading, judging and supervising code you did not write, and handing your work to another person.

Class meets Wednesday 9:00 – 2:00. No class Wednesday 30 September (National Day for Truth and Reconciliation) or Wednesday 11 November (Remembrance Day). The last class is Wednesday 9 December.
