Access:

Students can access and create their alumni sites by visiting the following address: https://alumni.itas.ca

The access to this site is directly connected to the same login and password as student email, or SSO (Single sign-on) as we call it in the profession. Students must login to their email prior to logging into Alumni.

How to Create a Site:

1. Login,

2. Click DashBoard

3. Click My Sites

4. Click "Create A New Site"

General:

All students, faculty and alumni of the ITAS program are provided with an ability to create two sites.  These sites are managed by VIU and hosted on the ITAS Cloud, and are subject to terms highlighted below.

Security:

Information stored on the ITAS Cloud is configured with a 256-bit cypher SSL encryption. Students are encouraged to rotate their passwords on a regular interval to ensure the highest level of integrity relating to their email and alumni site.

Privacy:

All Alumni sites are hosted on the ITAS Cloud, and require student consent on a 3rd party information agreement prior to receiving access. The authenticaiton system for alumni sites is directly connected to Google Apps.

If a student does not wish to use Google Apps for any particular reason, they will be provided with a special account hosted at VIU with a pseudonym name. Students may also ask that ITAS use a pseudonym name in the cloud rather than their real name if they have a concern.

Retention:

Alumni sites may remain active for successful alumni of the program for five years upon graduation. If a student does not complete the program in full, their account and sites will be deleted six months after their last attended day in ITAS. This agreement is subject to change with a one year notice.
